here in the united states, parts of the east coast are feeling the storm effects as well. alexandra steele, what is she doing now? >> it is now -- you can still see still southeast of bermuda. but the u.s. will feel impact. there will be deadly and dangerous rip current and also some very high waves along the eastern seaboard. here's a look at the hurricane. again, leslie has been really just sitting where it is for the last 18 hours. last advisory as of 5:00 a.m. has it now moving north at 1 mile per hour. it is beginning to make a move. here's its track. it will pass and not make a direct hit to bermuda. it will pass east of bermuda. how close it will be is the question. the time for this because the swath of leslie is so big, the wind field with this is bo bohemith. just to give you perspective, there's a 45 mile radius here between bermuda and the edge of the cone. now tropical storm force winds with this thing extend out 185 miles from the center. regardless, we will see big time winds in bermuda this weekend. then we'll see it move northeast and actually new foundlan

we heard the president of the united states. they all went out of their way raising the whole simpson balls commission but they all rejected it when they had an opportunity to promote it. were you surprised by that, jeff? >> it was a little surprised by that. and i agree with ryan. this campaign's slogan is forward and they were promising he would give a window into the next four years. but at the same time it was not a state of, you know, the union address. it was an acceptance speech for the party's nomination. and, i guess looking at what they were trying to achieve, simply overall was to ask voters for their patience, to ask for a little more time to get things done. and he was talking to voters who already supported him once four years ago. that's all he needs. i mean, he is not trying to necessarily puersuade any new voters. he's trying to re-engage and re-energize some voters who may not be quite as sure of him this time. overall i don't think it will go down as one of his best speeches. but often speeches in the history

and god bless these united states. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ >> the president of the united states, showing clearly the advantage of going second. he had the opportunity to respond in detail to so many of the critical points made by mitt romney and paul ryan last week in tampa and the president also wanted to differentiate his philosophy, his vision, his outline for where the united states is right now and where it is heading. it was clearly an effort to respond to all of the criticism that the democrats and the obama administration and the president and the vice president took last week. the president was clearly making a point that mitt romney didn't mention the men and women of the military last week. didn't mention the sacrifices paid by the troops last week at a speech in tampa. that's why so much of the president's comments today thanked the u.s. men and women of the u.s. military for what they have done, a clear differentiation of what was said. there will be many points in the president's speech that will now be debated, but for now he has done exactly what he and his advisers wanted to do,
